What a fabulous couple of days for Little Diva...

Little Diva has really been getting out there over the last couple of days.

Firstly my Butterfly Girls Skirt was picked for the "Made It" shopping guide.

Then the lovely Jo from Babyjo did a beautiful post on her blog.

Then, just as I was heading over to type this post, I checked my emails and there was one from Bec at Made It telling me that my new singlet tops had been featured on the Kids Style File website as part of the "Five Fabulous Finds: Cute as Pie Pieces for your Little Miss".

and if that isn't enough, my Easy Peasy Girls Skirt Pattern kit (one of my Usew2 Etsy Store items) was featured in an Etsy Gift Guide - "DIY Made Simple".

So, it's all very exciting and now I'd better go as the kids are screaming at each other in the background!! Ahhh, back to reality....

Hoot.... Hoot.... can you hear them coming!!

You'll probably remember these Owls I made for Jo from Lovestamp recently for her market stall:

Well, the lovely Jo has been fielding so many customer queries at the markets for me that I've decided to start making some (with her approval of course!!).

I've got quite a bit of sewing to do over the next few weeks but once that is done I'll make some Owls (hopefully before my next market, Boutique Markets on Sunday 9th August). Of course I can custom make in the fabrics or colours of your choice too.

So keep following my blog or sign up for my newsletter (just send me your email address) to find out when they're available.

If you want to see them on the Lovestamp stall, click here and here for some photo's.

EDIT: 29Jul - It doesn't look like I'll have any owls made for the next Boutique Markets on 9th August so if you really want one for a gift or anything in the next 3-4 weeks, let me know and I'll make one especially for you in fabrics of your choice.

Cute new girls singlets....

I've finally got around to listing some of my girls singlets in my Made It store...

Click here to visit my store.... More coming soon....

It's markets galore in Brisbane at the moment...

There's been some fabulous markets on in Brisbane over the last few weeks and another gorgeous market is on this weekend too - the Mathilda's Market.

"Mathilda's Market is a fabulous niche market that offers unique, stylish and affordable baby & kids goods that are lovingly handmade or from limited production line. The retailers are hand pick to ensure an exciting product range, and most of them do not have a shop front, so you know you'll find something special, not available anywhere else. Mathilda’s Market is coming up in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth in June & July. With up to 70 gorgeous stalls, yummy food, free kids entertainment, this is a fantastic day out for young & old. For a sneak peek, have a look at the gallery on Mathilda’s Market website (www.mathildasmarket.com.au) and enjoy browse through past Markets. "

Unfortunately I won't have a stall at the market as I thought three weekends in a row might be a bit much but I'm happy to say I've been accepted for their next market on Sunday 1st November.

Anyway, the market is on this coming Sunday 19th July from 9am until 1pm at Brisbane City Hall. Click here for further details.

I'd get there early though as I heard it was really busy last time!

You can also click here for the Love Mum blog and here for their Facebook page.

Have you seen Edan Rose yet?

Edan Rose is a new label started by a Mum in Adelaide who has created these gorgeous "Womb with a View" Baby Cocoons.

"Keep baby feeling warm, snuggled and secure, much like they were in the womb! Is great for use in the day and also for sleeping. I recommend using a light wrap under the cocoon for sleeping so that little fingers and toes don't escape through the knit (although this is very cute!). Prevents startle reflex from waking baby as their arms are safely tucked away inside the cocoon"

They are handmade using 100% Wool and come in a variety of beautiful colours. They are also available in a number of different sizes.

Click here to visit the beautiful Edan Rose website and here for her blog.

It arrived.... YAY !

This is why I was waiting so patiently for the Postman yesterday:

You'll probably remember my post recently where I made a couple of Owls for the lovely Jo at Lovestamp.

Well, we had decided on doing a swap, so after a lot of deliberation I finally picked the necklace I wanted and it came, beautifully packaged, yesterday...

There's two packages because I also ordered one for my sister - I can't show you hers yet as it's a belated Birthday present and I'm giving it to her tonight.

here's mine though:

(sorry about the photography - clearly I'm not good at photographing jewellery!!)

I just love it and had to wear it straight away. It has my children's names on it and a little x and o (for kisses and hugs of course) at the top.

Thanks Jo... If you want one of these beauties for yourself you can click here to visit the Lovestamp online store or you can also catch Jo at the Boutique Markets tomorrow - where of course I will be wearing mine!!

100th Post !!

I just realised that I have done 99 posts! WOW, when I first started my blog (in September 2008) I thought there was no way I'd ever have enough interesting things to write about. It's amazing how quickly they all add up.

I thought the same when I started my monthly newsletter but I never seem to be short of things to say. By the way, I've just sent out my July edition so if you'd like to receive it, send me your email address and you'll go in the draw to win a $15 voucher.

Anyway, it seems the thing to do is a giveaway for your 100th post... I hate to say it but I don't have the time right now, however don't despair!!! I will do a giveaway very very soon. So keep following and you won't be disappointed.

Best be off to get some more sewing done for the market on Sunday.

Ciao and happy 100th post to me......

3 days to go.....

Don't forget about the Boutique Markets this Sunday.

Portside Wharf, Hamilton
extended hours of 8am until 4pm

this coincides with the Chocolate and Coffee Lovers Affair on at Portside. So come along and have a fantastic coffee, do a bit of chocolate tasting and of course a spot of shopping. If I'm not at my stall you know I'll be off doing a bit of coffee and chocie tasting myself!!

P.S. I now have EFTPOS facilities...

Blog This challenge...

Blog This - Challenge Number 7: Fifteen Facts

Tell us fifteen fascinating, far fetched, frightening, funny or frivolous facts about yourself. Those bits of trivia that are floating around in your life.

Can you eat 10 burgers in one sitting? Do you sleep with your eyes open? Can you tie a cherry stalk into a knot? Speak 5 different languages?

All those things that you've bored your friends and family with for years - We want to know.

  1. I am a qualified ballet teacher (actually, it's probably not valid anymore seeing as I did that exam when I was 16).
  2. I used to sleepwalk (and sleep talk) - a lot!! and sleep with my eyes half open. Freaked my family out quite a bit and my hubby is quite happy that I don't do it anymore - much anyway!
  3. I always wanted to have two children by the time I was 30 - I didn't think that was going to happen until I found out I was having twins!
  4. When I was trying to work out what I wanted to do in high school, I was tossing up the idea of being a Kindy (Prep) teacher. Thankfully that never came to fruition: my own children of that age drive me insane daily - how would I have coped with 25 of them??
  5. Matthew McConaughey spoke to me when I was on holidays in Port Douglas a couple of years ago. Actually he commented to me how cute my twins were when we walked past (they were pushing their own prams along). I can have that can't I?? And then he rode past us later on his bike with his shirt flapping open..... oh the memories.....
  6. I used to be a Travel Consultant until I had my third child and resigned. My god I miss the freebies and social life that came with it, sometimes....
  7. I was just on TV recently for the BrisStyle segment on The Great South East. Click here if you missed it (look out for my twins doing a bit of modelling).
  8. My husband and I went to school together for two years but barely spoke a word to each other. It wasn't until after school that we actually got to know and like each other through mutual friends. We've been together for 14 years and married for 6 years - it takes some people a loooong time!!!
  9. I love nothing better than reading the paper in the mornings with a cup of coffee once the kids are fed and watching a few cartoons. I'm devastated if the paper is delivered late!!
  10. I never thought I'd be designing and making children's clothes. I was going to say "for a living" at the end of that sentence but I don't think I can actually call it that yet!
  11. I love a good soppy romantic movie.
  12. I think it's fantastic the ways songs can make you soooo happy, and sad and create so many emotions in just a couple of minutes.
  13. I hate runny egg yolk. Makes me want to vomit.. I'm not a fussy eater except for that and I'm always telling people to break the yolk so it all cooks through.
  14. I've just discovered I'm great at cooking quiche. I've never really cooked a good one before until I decided to try using sour cream instead or normal cream.
  15. I grew up in Casino, Northern NSW.
Wow, that was a lot harder than I thought. Back to the sewing now...

BIDM was a huge success....

I'm nearly recovered now from my huge weekend....

First on Saturday was the BrisStyle Indie Designers Market (BIDM) over at Hamilton.

(outdoor stalls before starting time)

I must say it was a raging success with the inside hall packed for most of the day. So many fabulous stalls with such different and unique handmade things... Unfortunately I didn't have time (or room) to take any photo's of my stall or others but you can visit some blogs with photo's here and here .

(indoors - before the madness) you can just see my clothes rack over there on the left..

(indoors - during the madness)

By the way, I borrowed these photos from Epheriell Designs and TrishAlan Designs. Hope you lovely ladies don't mind!!

I didn't get around to see everyone but I did manage to pick a few things:

This is my new brooch from Prettyhead Designs. Cute isn't he!! I'm not really into brooches but I just couldn't resist and he's now going to be my little market buddy as he goes well with my black and red market apron. It was lucky I got in early as they almost sold out - there was just three little lonesome heart brooches at the end of the day - well done Casey!

This gorgeous card from Denim Days - thanks Tracey for looking after my stall for me while I had a quick break or a wander...

and this lovely domino pendant from Up in Annie's Room - it's for a friend's belated birthday..

Then on Sunday we had our two Birthday parties. 10am at the park for a 4th Birthday Party and then 2pm at Lollypop world for a 5th Birthday Party.

Here they are ready to head off for the first installment:

I just took the girls to the second birthday party as it would have been too much for Harry and he would have been a nightmare by that time of day with no sleep. He would have loved it though!

So, onto another week. I've got a wholesale order ready to take over to Mini Boutique at St Lucia, another wholesale order to sew for Babies Australia Emporium, some photos to take for the Love Mum website (my newest stockist - online store launching 15th July) and lots of sewing for the Boutique Markets I'll be at this coming Sunday 12th July....

I guess I really should go and get something done... (oh and I've got to write my July Newsletter too - if you're not signed up, send me your email address and you'll go in the draw to win an AUD $15 voucher to my Made It store).

The Owl Project..... complete

Remember a post a little while back about my latest project - the Owls ??

Well, here they are....

I custom made these for Jo from Lovestamp as she was looking to get some toy owls made to represent her Owl Logo (see banner below) and she's going to use them as displays at her market stalls. I believe they are as yet unnamed but no doubt she'll come up with something soon.

Jo is making me one her gorgeous necklaces in return and I can't wait to show you all. I'm also ordering one for my sister's birthday, which was last week, but she can't decide what she wants!

Click here to check out Jo's stunning creations or for Brisbane locals you'll be able to find Jo at the upcoming Boutique Markets on Sunday 12th July and Mathilda's Market on Sunday 19th July. You can also visit her blog here.
